AT BOHMAN'S, IT'S A FAMILY TRADITION
IT'S A FAMILY TRADITION
Bring the entire family...including the dog! Take a wagon ride through the scenic Southeastern Indiana countryside and select the perfect Christmas Tree from our large variety of trees.
Once you find your perfect tree, you can cut it down yourself (we provide the saw). Next, we will drill the tree to guarantee it will stand straight, plus we will shake off the loose needles and bail it. We also have pre-cut trees available for your convenience. Ample parking and portable restroom facilities are also available.
CHRISTMAS TREE FARM
The first seedlings were planted on the farm in 1968 and eight years later, the first tree was sold. Every year since 1968, thousands of seedlings have been planted in March to ensure a high variety of trees. Each tree on the farm is planted by hand. After the trees reach three years of age, they are sheared every year. Countless hours are spent year-round on upkeep, such as mowing weeds to yield proper growth and shape. After approximately nine years of hot, dry summers and cold, frosty winters, the trees are ready to be harvested.
Fraser Firs have strong branches that turn upward giving a compact appearance. Their needles are flattened and dark-green with a groove on the upper side and a silvery-white coloring on the underside. The bark is usually a gray to gray-brown color. The needle retention and the dark blue/green coloring, along with pleasant scent and easy transport, make Fraser Fir trees one of the most popular Christmas trees. On average, it takes 7 to 10 years for tree growers to produce a 6 to 7-foot tree.
